ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) is one of ENGIE’s Business Units. As the Trading arm of ENGIE, we deliver services in supply and logistics management, asset management, risk management, market access management, while contributing to the market understanding, design and efficiency and developing market solutions to accelerate the energy transition.
GEM manages one of the largest and most diversified energy portfolios in Europe, including electricity, natural gas, bulk commodities and environmental products.
With 8 trading platforms and activities in more than 50 countries, GEM has an extended geographical coverage in Europe, Asia-Pacific and in the US. It employs 1,400 people around the world.
Within the GEMS Business Unit, the Platform GEMS ANZ is managing and developing the group’s trading, physical power and PPA management, asset’s management and C&I activities for Australia.
In order to pursue its development, GEM is developing and rolling out various transformation projects such as Gemstone (Front to Back trading chain) using Orchestrade, SalesForce, SAP tools.
GEM ANZ IS team is looking for an IT Risk/PL SUPPORT Officer, to improve the reliability of the existing systems, and support the development of the pricing librairy. The role is based in Melbourne. It requires many interactions with the teams in APAC and Europe. Business trips to Europe may be required from time to time
As a member of the GEMS ANZ IS team in Melbourne, IT Risk/PL SUPPORT Officer is also expected to contribute to the cohesion of the IT team.
Role / Key responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
On development side:
• Integrate pricing libraries developed by the Quant teams into the Orchestrade software package.
• Ensure the robustness and performance of the Risk/PL framework used by the Front Office via Orchestrade, interfaced with ENGIE’s pricing library.
• Coordinate the various components required for pricing (market data, pricer, grid, etc.), ensuring the quality and stability of the platform.
• Guarantee smooth production operations:
o Proactive monitoring of processes
o Incident analysis and resolution
o Performance optimization and service reliability
• Establish and maintain a quality-oriented approach:
o Technical documentation
o Automated non-regression testing
o Build pipeline and continuous integration
On support side:
The main missions are :
- Ensure system stability and run continuity for the full system (services, batches, etc… running in Europe or Singapore)
- Provide support to the users on the application perimeter: Pre-trade/Pricing – Trade Life Cycle – Post Trade/Greeks/V@r/Valo.
- Share relevant information with support and development teams in Paris & Brussels
- Production monitoring
o Monitor the global IT platform and execute the associated action when alerts are raised.
o Process (analyze, solve, document) incidents.
o Coordinate incidents resolution with Paris teams when necessary (for instance with infrastructure teams or on-duty people)
o Maintain monitoring systems and continuously share ideas to improve its effectiveness.
o Actively participate in the writing or enhancement of operational procedures (in link with the monitoring alerts)
o Engage in FTS (Follow-the-Sun) model with Europe, including information sharing and tasks handover
o Follow up on the evolution of the IT platform (release) and adapt monitoring tools and procedures
- Support to users
o Process local user support requests (configurations, assistance,…)
o Collect regularly user feed-backs on system Run Quality and share it with development teams

o Enrich the backlog of problems (source of recurring incidents), including description, impact/recurrence/priority,…
o Self-organize continuous learning on the IS systems and landscape
o Manage the IT part of the Singapore Business Continuity Plan
o Share improvement ideas with Business Analyst
Profil recherché
Qualification
• Master degree in computer science or equivalent or Financial Mathematics.
• Solid development experience (C#, Python), ideally in a financial environment.
• Knowledge of pricing systems and market-related issues (a plus).
• Mastery of development best practices: automated testing, CI/CD on Azure DevOps, documentation.
• 2-5 years relevant experience in IT trading environment
• Experience and knowledge about Trading and/or portfolio management processes. Derivatives Commodities is a plus.
