Its goal is to become a major player in the implementation of technologically advanced, optimized energy solutions.
Company Strategy :
• Recognized expertise in energy conversion (power electronics)
• The development of proprietary products (converters and related functions)
• Three development sites (Massy, Pertuis and St Estève)
• Offices in the United States (Houston) and Norway (Stavanger) to represent Watt and Well and support its clients
The Watt & Well teams have a wide range of expertise:
● Integrated power electronics in harsh environments
○ High temperature
○ High vibrations
○ High EMI
● Motor controller
● A strong understanding of electronics in general, as well as the software that can be integrated into it (µP, DSP, FPGA…)
● The mechanical system for integrating and cooling converters
Watt & Well positions itself as a preferred partner for companies with one-time or recurring needs in these areas. Its key competitive advantage lies in its deep expertise across all the aforementioned fields, combined with the ability to conduct studies and develop prototypes within very short timeframes (3 to 6 months).
The sectors covered by these areas of expertise range from the automotive industry to the oil industry, including the aerospace sector and renewable energy.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Hardware Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic and power systems for demanding industrial applications. This role is ideal for an engineer with an interest in hardware design, power electronics, testing, and product development, who enjoys working in a hands-on environment from concept through validation and product support.
The engineer will contribute to the design, analysis, testing, and continuous improvement of electrical systems, including high-voltage and low-voltage power electronics, motor control hardware, embedded systems interfaces, and test platforms. This position offers exposure to the full product lifecycle, including design, validation, commercialization, and field support.
What You’ll Do:
● Support the design and development of electrical hardware, including schematic creation, PCB design reviews, and engineering documentation.
● Design, analyze, simulate, and test analog and digital circuits for power electronics, motor control systems, and embedded hardware applications.
● Contribute to the design of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including power conversion, power distribution, motor control, and battery-related systems.
● Perform electrical calculations, simulations, and analysis, including thermal and power-related evaluations.
● Develop and execute test plans, validation procedures, and qualification activities for board-level and system-level designs.
● Conduct laboratory testing, troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and data collection to support development and product improvement.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
● Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical problem-solving throughout the product development lifecycle.
● Support failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across existing and new products.
● Contribute to embedded hardware integration, including coordination with firmware and software development efforts.
● Occasionally visit client sites and attend industry events, trade shows, or technical seminars.

● Master’s degree is a plus.
● For mid-career candidates, approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, product development, R&D, or related hands-on engineering roles.
● Familiarity with hardware development, PCB design, laboratory testing, and product validation.
● Exposure to power electronics, including AC/DC or DC/DC conversion, motor drives, or power supply design.
● Understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals.
● Experience with electrical analysis, simulation, and troubleshooting tools such as LTspice, SPICE, SIMPLIS, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar.
● Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium, , or equivalent CAD platforms.
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.
● Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
● Demonstrated sense of ownership, initiative, and urgency in technical execution.
Nice to Have
● Experience with non-isolated and isolated power converter topologies such as buck, boost, buck-boost, flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, or push-pull.
● Experience designing with higher-voltage systems or higher-power applications.
● Familiarity with EMI/EMC considerations, thermal design, and packaging constraints.
● Experience with embedded microcontrollers, sensors, or basic firmware development in C/C++.
● Understanding of digital interfaces and communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, RS232, Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet, or CAN.
● Experience developing test fixtures, board bring-up procedures, and validation environments.
● Familiarity with the design, testing, or qualification of electronics for harsh environments, including high-temperature, shock, vibration, and rugged industrial or oil and gas applications.
