Context Market Analysis is an Expertise Centre within S&EM, providing services on energy markets such as supply-demand analysis, forecasts, investment economics, regulatory advisory, and ESG support. Within this entity, the Environmental Economics team (5 analysts in Paris and Brussels) analyzes the impact of climate and sustainability policies on ENGIE’s decarbonization strategy. Its work is structured around three pillars: Climate: carbon trajectories, emissions management, climate risk Low-carbon solutions: modelling, certification schemes, techno-economic studies Environment: water, waste, biodiversity The team supports carbon accounting, ESG reporting (e.g., CSRD), environmental market analysis (EACs, carbon credits), and regulatory monitoring. It also conducts techno-economic studies on decarbonization pathways and contributes to ENGIE’s positioning in the energy transition. Your Mission As an Environmental Economics Market Analyst (V.I.E., Brussels), you will contribute to delivering high-quality analytical services to internal ENGIE stakeholders across multiple GBUs (S&EM, ESG, Renewables, Networks, R&I). Your role will include: Supporting climate adaptation strategies and carbon reduction trajectories across business units (with a focus on Networks GBU) Building and maintaining quantitative models (carbon trajectories, scenario analysis, supply-demand modelling for carbon markets and EACs) Assessing regulatory and market developments (e.g., CSRD, ETS 1 & 2, RED, CBAM, NZIA) Producing insights through presentations, dashboards, and reports for technical and executive audiences Supporting advocacy and business development activities at local level Collaborating cross-functionally with sustainability, regulatory, strategy, and innovation teams Your work will directly support ENGIE’s sustainability strategy and investment decision-making

What we are looking for Strong interest in energy markets, sustainability, and climate economics Ability to work on complex analytical topics and provide actionable insights Motivation to work in a transversal, international, and collaborative environment Eagerness to contribute to ENGIE’s energy transition strategy Hard skills Quantitative and analytical modelling capabilities Knowledge (or strong interest) in: Climate policies and EU regulations (CSRD, ETS, CBAM, etc.) Carbon markets, EACs, sustainability frameworks Python skills (data analysis, APIs, dashboards) are a strong plus Ability to structure data and perform scenario analysis Soft skills Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills Autonomy and proactivity Strong communication skills (written & oral) Team spirit and ability to work in multicultural environments Curiosity and willingness to challenge assumptions Education & Experience Master’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Energy, Environment, Economics, or related field Eligible for a V.I.E. contract Languages Fluent in English French or Dutch is a plus Additional European languages (e.g., German, Spanish) are an advantage Why join us?
