Research Associate – Engineering (H/F)

The Baxter R&D team in Nutrition NPD (New Product Development) Innovation/Formulation & Compatibility is seeking a VIE with an engineering background to support process and product development as well as continuous improvement initiatives. The position focuses on bridging laboratory activities, process understanding, and operational deployment, contributing to the development and optimization of products and processes. The VIE will play a key role in connecting scientific development with practical implementation, including integration of digital and automation solutions. Details of the mission: This position will act as Research Associate within the Innovation/Formlation & Compatibility scope with the following missions: • Contribute to process and product development and improvement activities by designing and executing studies and experiments • Support technical investigations and problem-solving initiatives related to innovation, formulation and compatibility • Organize, execute and document experimental studies under defined objectives • Collect, analyze and interpret experimental data, and provide recommendations based on findings • Support the evaluation and implementation of process improvements with a focus on robustness, efficiency, and scalability • Contribute to the integration of monitoring technologies, digital tools or automation solutions to improve processes or products • Participate in the implementation of digital solutions for laboratory or pilot activities (e.g. data management, process monitoring) • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering) to support development and transfer activities • Perform laboratory work to support development studies and ensure alignment between experimental and process perspectives • Assess opportunities to leverage digital tools, including AI, where relevant to support data analysis or process understanding

• Master’s degree in Engineering (or Science) • Strong curiosity to apply knowledge to development or improvement of processes and products • Interest in integration of digital or automation solutions within development or laboratory environments • Experience in laboratory work and experimental studies • Knowledge or interest in data analysis, statistics, measurement techniques, or digital tools (AI) • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of activities • Team player mindset with good communication skills • Structured and analytical approach to problem solving • Scientific rigor and curiosity • Basic understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and cGxP practices is a plus • Read, spoken and written English is a must.
