Description de la mission

The Technical Buyer Assistant supports procurement activities for technical goods and services in support of projects and operations. He/she contributes to optimizing costs, lead times, and quality, while ensuring compliance with technical and contractual requirements. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic VIE to join our team at Hinkley Point C (HPC). As a VIE, you will be based at the HPC site and will support the Site Purchasing Department.This outstanding opportunity will give you hands-on experience with real-world projects, whilst enabling you to develop professional skills and build your resume all under the Mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals. Main Responsibilities : • Support site buyers in managing supplier tenders (RFQ/RFP) • Participate in the technical and commercial evaluation of supplier offers • Prepare comparison tables (costs, lead times, technical compliance) • Follow up on technical purchase orders (equipment, parts, services) • Interface with technical teams (engineering, construction, subcontractors) to clarify requirements • Ensure supplier offers comply with technical specifications • Participate in first-level negotiations with suppliers • Monitor delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers when necessary • Support buyers in managing supplier claims (delays, non-conformities, delivery discrepancies) • Contribute to supplier evaluation and qualification • Update procurement databases and ensure reporting (KPIs, performance indicators) • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and quality/safety requirements

Profil recherché

Profile / Qualifications: • Bachelor or Master’s degree in business • Initial experience (including internships or apprenticeships) in a technical or industrial environment is a plus • Good understanding of technical documents (drawings, specifications, scopes of work) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Knowledge of an ERP system (SAP or similar) is a plus • Professional level of English required • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team • Strong analytical and synthesis skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Comfortable communicating with both technical and commercial stakeholders • Proactive mindset and customer-oriented approach ________________________________________ Desired Skills : • Knowledge of industrial sectors (energy, nuclear, oil & gas, construction, etc.) is preferred but not mandatory • Awareness of quality, safety, and cost challenges • Strong interest in technical environments and project-based work
