La Brigade de Buyer US is the commercial subsidiary dedicated to the American market. Based in New York City, the team operates at the center of one of the most competitive and fast moving consumer markets globally.
The subsidiary is currently in a phase of strong acceleration, combining rapid commercial growth with significant investments to support brand deployment, go to market execution and supply chain structuring. This growth phase requires reinforced financial steering to ensure robust decision making, cost discipline and a clear path toward sustainable profitability.
Within this context, the Finance function plays a structuring and strategic role, moving beyond reporting to actively support business choices. This VIE position is designed as a high exposure role, closely connected to local leadership in New York and fully integrated into the Finance ecosystem of La Brigade de Buyer and the Group.
YOUR MISSIONS:
As a VIE Financial Controller – Business Partner, your mission is to structure, animate and continuously improve the financial steering of the US subsidiary. Your responsibilities are articulated around four core pillars:
Develop performance management tools
• Design, deploy and maintain reporting and steering tools tailored to the US business (volumes, seasonality, distribution channels).
• Build and enhance dashboards (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for management and operational teams.
• Secure data flows, improve reliability and structure financial processes.
• Contribute to ERP (NetSuite) evolutions and Power BI reporting development.
Drive business performance
• Analyze commercial performance (sales, margins, product mix, channels) versus budget and prior year.
• Identify deviations, performance drivers and optimization levers.
• Deliver clear analyses and recommendations to support operational decision making.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses linked to strategic projects (product launches, marketing initiatives, commercial investments).
• Contribute to the preparation of budgets and re forecasts, in collaboration with local management and process owners.
Contribute to monthly and year end closings
• Support the close process with the local Accounting team: control and validate revenue.
• Help control physical inventory counts (raw materials, components, merchandise and finished goods) and review stock valuation, depreciation/provisions and their variances.
• Provide Accounting with extra accounting items (provisions) for a faithful view of the economic reality of the activity.
• Help optimize inventory management and monitor stock levels and valuation
Act as a Business Partner to local leadership
• Build a strong, trust based relationship with the US management team.
• Provide a rigorous and analytical financial perspective to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Challenge assumptions, highlight risks and opportunities, and help translate strategy into measurable financial impacts.
• Balance strategic vision with hands on operational execution in a fast growing environment.
Serve as a relay with Group Finance
• Ensure consistent, accurate and timely financial reporting to France.
• Guarantee alignment with Group standards, methodologies and tools.
• Participate in Group performance reviews and consolidated reporting exercises.
• Act as a reliable Finance relay between the US subsidiary and Group stakeholders.
• Support external/statutory audit work by preparing the financial elements requested (margins, sales, inventory).
• Help ensure the reliability of the financial data communicated, and compliance with Group procedures and deadlines.
Reporting line & key interactions
Hierarchical reporting
• Reports directly to the Management Control Manager – US subsidiary
Functional interactions
• Daily interactions with the US Leadership Team (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain)
• Close collaboration with the local Accounting team (closes, provisions, extra accounting adjustments)
• Regular exchanges with the Management Control team in France (La Brigade de Buyer)
• Contribution to Group Finance reviews and reporting cycles
This role requires strong relational skills and the ability to operate confidently across functions, cultures and time zones.
Profil recherché
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree (Bac+5 equivalent) in Finance, Management Control, Audit or Business School with a finance specialization.
First experience in finance or controlling (internship or apprenticeship).
Strong analytical mindset and advanced Excel skills; exposure to Power BI and ERP systems (NetSuite) is a plus.
Solid accounting fundamentals (closings, inventory valuation, provisions) and ability to contribute to budget building and re forecasts.
Ability to work autonomously in a fast moving, international and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Rigorous, well organized and proactive, with strong critical thinking and synthesis skills.
An interest in understanding the Group's business sector and processes is appreciated.
Fluent English required (minimum C1 level) due to daily interactions with US and international stakeholders.
