DESIGN COORDINATOR ASSISTANT (H/F)

This position is proposed in the context of a “VIE” mission of 2 years, specially appointed on the new major research vessel project for our client, comprising 2 different vessels with the main objective to assist the design coordinator in his tasks. Specifically appointed on the project, the Design Coordinator assistant will support the project Design Coordinator in his tasks: - Coordinate the questions received from the production shipyards and distribute them toward the adequate Design Team Leader if appropriate. - Manage the drawing list and ensure the drawings are produced on time to the production yards. - Liaise with the Team Leaders to identify supplier documentation to be forwarded to the shipyards. - Liaise with the Design Assistant to ensure the drawings & documentation are posted in Therefore and issued to production. - Ensure RFM are completed and seek resolution of any discrepancy between issued RFM and shipyard needs. - Be responsible for the coordination between trades in the design process, ensuring consistency of the design modifications in all aspects. - Liaise with Project Manager and Piriou ingenierie (PING) for managing the design modifications. - Liaise with subcontractors (mainly electrical and global detail design subcontractors) and ensure the subcontracted documents are ready on time for production. - Provide answer and resolution to BV comments. - Seek the Design Director in the resolution of priority, conflict or technical assistance. The design coordinator assistant can assist in any aspect of the design coordinator mission. The exact workshare between Design coordinator and his assistant to de defined during the project.

- Knowledge of shipbuilding regulations, and specifically BV, SOLAS and SPS Code - Knowledge of the complete ship design process. Project / Basic / Design / Industrialization / Preparation - Knowledge in Mechanic and Process - Be able to criticize a design principle and propose alternative solution - Be able to respect the ISO procedures - Be able to use Autocad and MS Office - Knowledge of Cadmatic software is a plus - Good written and verbal communication skills
