In this environment, EDF power solutions Peru has consolidated its footprint with a total installed capacity of 48.3 MW. EDF’s success in Peru is driven by its expertise in operating within complex geographical environments—particularly the Amazon region—and its agility in deploying innovative business models for renewable energy.
Scope of the position
Based in Lima, Peru, the VIE will support the development of hydropower and solar projects by coordinating and implementing environmental and social activities. The role is responsible for managing environmental documentation, supporting permitting processes, coordinating consultants' technical studies and ensuring compliance with national regulations and applicable international environmental and social standards.
Key responsibilities:
• Coordinate environmental and social studies, permitting processes, and compliance activities for hydropower and solar projects, ensuring alignment with Peruvian regulations and international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles).
• Coordinate biodiversity and carbon initiatives, including Critical Habitat Assessments, Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs), and the development, certification, registration, and commercialization of carbon credit projects for the Group’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
• Support environmental due diligence, technical reporting, consultant management, and the implementation of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) throughout the project development lifecycle.
Job description
Currently, EDF power solutions Peru is looking for a:
E&S Analyst (M/F)
Reporting to the ESHS Manager, your main assignments will be:
- Support preparation, review and tracking environmental and social permits. Assist in the management of environmental and social studies with consultants. In this capacity, the VIE will implement Peruvian national regulations or international standards (IFC, Equator Principles) depending on the projects.
- Coordinate environmental and social studies by monitoring schedules, deliverables, and communication with external consultants.
- Coordinate Biodiversity studies required for project development, including Critical Habitat Assessments and Biodiversity Action Plans ensuring that impacts are managed in accordance with the mitigation hierarchy an applicable international standards (e.g. IFC PS6)
- Create and maintain organized environmental records, technical documentation, and project databases.
- Monitor compliance with environmental commitments established in permits, environmental impact assessments, and corporate requirements.
- Support the preparation of technical E&S reports, risk assessments, and environmental and social due diligences.
- Support the implementation of environmental management systems and internal procedures.
- Participate in field visits, environmental inspections, and meetings with consultants and authorities when required.
- Contribute to the preparation of sustainability and lender environmental documentation (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, or other applicable requirements)
- Coordinate the development, certification, registration, and commercialization of carbon credit projects for the Group’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), including coordination with technical consultants, validation and verification bodies, carbon registries, and potential buyers, ensuring compliance with applicable international carbon standards and maximizing the commercial value of environmental attributes.
Profil recherché
Training / Diploma :
- Education: Master’s degree / Bac +5 (University or Engineering school).
- Specialization: Environment, Biology, Geography, Biodiversity, and mapping/GIS. Knowledge of International E&S standards and carbon credit certification processes is highly valued.
Desired Experience: Minimum of 6 months.
Languages : Fluent in Spanish and English; bilingual in French.
