As the Romanian energy markets evolve and become increasingly volatile, ENGIE is strengthening its capabilities in market risk monitoring and performance analysis to support its growth in energy trading. ________________________________________ Mission As a Market Risk Analyst under the VIE program, you will support the development and automation of market risk monitoring tools and processes. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate risk representation, delivering insightful performance analysis, and supporting the management of an increasingly diverse energy portfolio, including renewable generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other emerging energy market activities. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Risk Monitoring & Reporting • Produce daily market risk reports and dashboards. • Analyze portfolio positions, hedging strategies, and risk limits. • Monitor market risk exposure related to both trading and supply activities. • Support the evaluation of market exposures and associated risks (e.g., Greeks, stress tests, VaR). • Contribute to the risk assessment of new business activities and products, with a particular focus on flexibility assets such as BESS. Automation & Digitalization • Contribute to the automation of reporting tools using Python and Power BI. • Develop and enhance tools for risk analysis, forecasting, and sensitivity analysis. • Propose innovative and robust monitoring solutions to support business development. Business Support & Collaboration • Assist in understanding and explaining P&L variations to Finance and Controlling teams. • Provide guidance on risk representation in the deal management system. • Collaborate with traders, sales teams, and other stakeholders to ensure risk awareness and compliance. • Support the development and integration of new flexibility activities, including BESS optimization and related hedging strategies.

Profil recherché

Profile Education & Experience • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related field. • A minimum of 6 months of experience in the energy sector is preferred. Skills & Competencies • Strong knowledge of market risk management and financial instruments. • Proficiency in Python and Power BI; familiarity with VBA or R is a plus. • Understanding of the Romanian and European energy markets and regulatory frameworks. • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and presentation abilities. • Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus.
