VIE Algo Optimization & Trading - Thermal & Hydro (H/F)

ENGIE Supply and Energy Management provides energy supply solutions and risk management services to support its clients through their decarbonization journey, while optimizing ENGIE’s assets and contributing to value creation. Within the BP Power Trading & Commercial (BP PT&C) has 3 main activities across NWE (BE,FR, GE,NL) : (i) serving the group by delivering best in class asset & risk management services for all upstream and midstream assets (ii) Develop a commercial franchise on green power and flexible power products and iii) deliver PnL by leveraging on strong risk appetite, market analysis and modelling capabilities. Within BP PT&C, the Algo Optimization and Trading for Thermal & Hydro assets team is responsible to maximize the value of our Thermal & Hydro assets on the short-term power markets, using algorithmic-based optimization/trading strategies, and complemented by optimizer expert decision. - Mission As VIE in the Algo Optimization and Trading team, you will support the team in developing new optimization and trading strategies for the Engie’s Thermal and Hydro power plants, on the short-term power markets (Ancillaries, Day-Ahead, Intraday, Balancing).The VIE will be based on Brussels.

Desired profile - BAC +5/ Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, Statistics or Data Science - Good software programming skills (Python) - Good understanding of the energy business, power markets and power plant operations - Skills in optimization and data science - Ability to explain and convey messages about complex issues - Practical thinking, autonomous, able to take initiatives - Fluent in English
