Description de la mission
About FNZCCI
FNZCCI exists to help businesses succeed across France, the French Pacific and New Zealand. We build trusted relationships, share practical market insight, and open doors. For our members, that means meeting the right people, understanding the market, and turning interest into opportunity.
Since 1985, we have been New Zealand's connection point to France and the French Pacific: the hub for France in the Pacific. Today, that means a community of more than 130 companies, backed by the CCI France International network of 120 chambers in 95 countries. Our work is guided by three values: Connection, Reciprocity and Practical Commercial Value.
About the role
This is a business development role with a strong project lead dimension. You will promote and deliver our business services to companies growing between France, the French Pacific and New Zealand, and lead our French Pacific projects from start to finish. Working in a small team alongside the General Manager, you will follow each project from the first client conversation through to delivery, and your work will have a direct, visible impact on the Chamber's results.
What you will do
Business development and business services (lead)
-Deliver business services under the Team France Export label: market studies, prospecting missions and B2B meetings, with Business France and the regional CCIs.
-Develop and convert leads across four flows: France → NZ, French Pacific → NZ, NZ → French Pacific and NZ → France.
-Prepare quotes, identify subsidies (Business France, Outre-mer schemes…) and manage the client relationship until delivery.
-Have a say in our offer: challenge and improve our materials, prospect lists and pipeline based on what you see with clients.
French Pacific projects (lead)
-Lead the French Pacific Business Forum (FPBF) 2027 in Auckland with our business and institutional partners in the region.
-Lead the 2027 outbound trade mission from New Zealand to New Caledonia and French Polynesia: stakeholders, budget, participants, logistics.
-Others may follow as the initiatives evolve, and some may come from opportunities you spot and propose yourself.
Members, partners and the V.I.E programme
-Maximise membership renewals and follow up with members on their needs.
-Stakeholder and partner management: alongside the core team and the board, play an active role in our relationships with the French Embassy and its Economic Department (SER), -Business France (New Zealand, Australia, Paris), NZTE, MFAT, the Ministry for Overseas France, the CCIs of New Caledonia and French Polynesia, French Pacific development agencies, clusters, French Tech, business federations…
-Grow the V.I.E programme: promote FNZCCI's V.I.E offer to companies, support our ambition to increase the number of V.I.E in New Zealand, and bring the Club V.I.E New Zealand community to life.
Chamber events and internal projects (support)
-Support the Chamber's flagship events: Business Awards, Gala, Sustainability Forum, sector-specific programmes and networking events.
-Contribute to Chamber strategy, board papers, processes and tools.
-Handle the admin linked to your activity: quotes, invoicing and follow-up.
Please note: this is not a communications or marketing role. You will share content and promote your projects, but the Chamber's communications and marketing are handled elsewhere in the team. Your focus is business development and project lead.
What we look for
At V.I.E level, we look at your potential, attitude and ability to learn quickly more than at a perfect track record.
Must-have
On the professional side, you bring
-An international business development experience: prospecting, partnerships, supporting companies entering new markets.
-Project and event management: trade missions, delegations or networking events.
-Market research: market studies, competitive analysis or sector briefings.
-Full professional French and English, written and spoken.
Just as important is how you work
-A hands-on, "get things done" mindset. You are as comfortable with admin and follow-up as with strategic thinking, and you look for ways to improve how things are done rather than simply carrying out tasks.
-Genuine motivation for FNZCCI and a coherent project for New Zealand, with real curiosity about New Zealand and the Pacific.
-Autonomy and proactivity. You manage several projects independently, across time zones, take decisions and become autonomous quickly.
-Relationship building and service mindset. You listen well, build trust, care about members, clients and partners, and enjoy meeting people at events.
-Cultural intelligence and diplomacy. You adapt to French, Kiwi and French Pacific ways of working, protocols and expectations, ideally with experience in multicultural settings (chambers of commerce, trade agencies, embassies, multinationals).
-Versatility. Our mission is broad: in the same week, the role may take you from an SME founder to the Embassy, from agrifood to infrastructure, from a market study to an event. You enjoy that variety.
-Team spirit. You fit quickly into a small team where everyone supports each other.
Nice-to-have
-Strong plus: knowledge of, or a network in, the French Pacific (New Caledonia, French Polynesia).
-Member relations and account management: engaging and retaining members or clients.
-Digital tools: CRM (Odoo), project management (Trello), LinkedIn, Humanitix, Artificial Intelligence tools.
-Content creation for social media.
Importance of this role
-Be at the centre of France–Pacific–New Zealand trade relations.
-Work in a dynamic, multicultural environment with international exposure.
-Contribute to a small team where your work makes a direct impact.
-Engage with a wide spectrum of industries, from agritech and food to infrastructure, luxury and innovation.
-Shape and deliver initiatives that create tangible benefits for businesses on both sides of the world.
-Flexible working arrangements.
Practical requirements
-Full time, based in Auckland.
-Commitment for the full 24 months starting with a 12 month renewable contract.
-Travel to New Caledonia and/or French Polynesia for the trade mission.
-Some work outside usual business hours (events, calls with France and the French Pacific).
-Working languages: French and English.
-Member and business data are confidential and must not be shared externally.
1 February 2027 - 31 January 2028 Please note the initial 12 months contract includes a probable extension (based on grant funding approval) and requires candidates to be available for 2 years.
